Pulchronomics is about economics study of beauty invented by labor economist Daniel Hamermesh. The main idea is to affect the earning potential through an appearance. Also, the more beautiful individuals are held to higher standards and they are hit with a ‘beautiful penalty’ which means decreased wages if they don’t fulfill these expectations. But what happens if they fulfill or exceed the expectations? Well, for women they are still penalized, as Victoria’s Secret model and software engineer Lyndsey Scott provides the better example of how it actually is.
As her personal website reveal that, this highly accomplished 34 years old lady is the lead software engineer of Rallybound company, part of the prestigious iOS tutorial team at RayWenderlich.com, holding a rank as one of the top iOS responders on stack overflow, and she has done video tutorials for kids along with Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg on Code.org. And yet with all of these talents and achievements people in Instagram haven’t stopped trolling from doubting her abilities. This is because of the bad stereotype people have in the society believing that it’s impossible for women to be smart and beautiful at the same time. So, here are the proofs of comments and her epically glorious response that we “Auxx Me” collected from her Instagram account. Scroll down below to see how it unfolded.
