My Rating:

The Blood Books trilogy is Underworld meets The Craft that fans of Harry Potter, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, & Twilight will enjoy! Readers are praising this ”must read” trilogy as ”unputdownable” & ”purely addicting.”

Book Synopsis

Careful what you witch for.

Avah Taylor never wanted to be a vampire, and now, her immortal life is at stake. When tragedy strikes, Avah is cast out of her vampire coven and embarks on a mission to expose the danger of the witchcraft that took her mortal life from her. Her journey takes her around the world, from Washington State to London to Russia, but Avah can’t run from a past deadly mistake that has come seeking revenge.

In this epic conclusion to the Blood Books trilogy, Avah’s questions will finally be answered, but only at a terrible price.

My Review

If I thought Blood Rose was a bit predictable, then Blood Promise is the complete opposite. The storyline had me hooked from the beginning.

The writing was brilliant in that way that you could never really anticipate what Avah was going to do or how she would react until something happened. Now normally, when you can’t figure out what the main character is going to do. But here it was completely done in character & when things happened, clues were dropped a couple of pages before, you just didn’t realise it.

I have to agree with other reviewers & say, this is definitely the best book in the Blood Books series. As some of you maybe know, I’m a highly sensitive person, so I’m not sure how much this comment counts but: This book made me laugh out loud, cry actual tears & squeal into a pillow. So, Blood Promise gets a high grade from me.

I feel like I have to complain about something because I talk so highly about this series. I would have loved to get to know Lillie, Jeremiah & Malik more. I know we saw a bit of Malik in the second book but overall, they are so focused on Avah, Jasik & Sebastian. I’m a character based reader, & I felt like I didn’t really get to know Lillie & Jeremiah more than on the surface.

Even though it was a bittersweet feeling, the end left me feeling completely at peace at the same time. I enjoyed going on this adventure with these characters but now I know they’re fine & I won’t be scratching the walls for something more. Also, Jasik will be keeping an eye on Avah so she won’t be doing something (too) crazy & impulsive.

All in all, it was a great end to an amazing adventure with a couple of truly captivating characters.
