Hi! I’m Jasmine a 19-year-old student from a new little blog called “Thoughts From Jasmine”, in which I talk about my life, my thoughts, Uni, and what I’m up to. As my blog is a piece of me and I like beauty and fashion, I may start dipping into it, so I thought I’d test the waters here first! If you like this, I’d love if you go check out my blog at Thoughts From Jasmine or over on Bloglovin’ and leave a comment on one of my posts letting me know that you came from here! So, at risk of me rambling, let’s get started!
Winter can be a tough time; cold weather can lead to cracked lips, dry skin and brittle hair, so it’s so important to look after ourselves beauty wise. Here are my top picks under £10 to keep you looking radiant this winter, in order of how much I think they’re needed:
Seaweed Oil Balancing Toner – The Body Shop, £7
I tried this on a whim because my face was going through a particularly bad skin period and it was wholeheartedly the best decision I’ve made regarding my skin in a long time. I cannot rave enough about this toner! I don’t have the worst skin in the world but it’s oily/combination with a few dry patches and it can get a bit stressful from time to time. From the first time using this toner, my skin felt so much smoother and looked visibly healthier (my mum thought I hadn’t taken off my makeup yet, I was very flattered). I now apply it using a cotton pad as part of my night time skin routine, usually after removing makeup or before applying night cream. This is so perfect for keeping your skin looking healthy and glowing in this harsh winter weather!
Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Polish – Superdrug, £4.99
I’ve tried a couple of the nail polishes from this range, and I have to say I’m very impressed! They have some beautiful muted tones, perfect for the winter, as well as some lovely pastels if you’re feeling bolder this season! My personal favourite is Paradise: a beautiful beigey brown, that can also look muted pink in certain lights (in the picture). The idea behind Barry M’s coconut infusion range is that it contains both coconut water and coconut oil, attempting to create a new formula that nourishes and enriches the nails as well as being super glossy. Due to this new healthy formula, you’re supposed to be able to use this polish without a base coat, which could save you both money and time! Both the colours and the formula are perfect to spice up your winter nails!
L’Oreal Studio Pro Heat It Hot & Straight Spray – Superdrug, £4.49
With the less heat we have in our lives, the more heat we tend to put on our hair, so it is essential to use heat protection to avoid unnecessary damage! As a hair-straightener addict, I’ve gone through my fair share of heat protection and out of all the one’s I’ve tried, this is my personal favourite! Not only is it reasonably priced, but it’s so good at keeping my hair straight! This product leaves my hair soft and silky after straightening, and gives it one of the best finishes I’ve found! I would highly recommend it for any heat-related hair styling you’re doing this winter!
Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm Stain in Fierce – Superdrug, £7.99
This is one of my everyday go-to lip colours in winter. It’s a gorgeous subtle wine colour (despite looking brown online), with such a light, weightless formula, perfect to combat those winter blues! The issue with dark colours tends to be the issue of topping them up, but this has to be the lip product that fades away the most evenly for me, and is so easy to top up! The balm consistency means it is incredibly soothing on the lips, which is exactly what we need in the winter, and the minty smell is the exact reminder of mint hot chocolates and warmth to keep you reminded of the benefits of winter all day!
Carmex – Superdrug/Boots, £2.59
Let’s face it, dry and cracked lips are one of the most irritating side effects of winter weather, which is why it’s so vital to have a good lip balm! For me, I feel that Carmex goes that step above a regular lip balm… It doesn’t just mask the dryness, it heals it. You can feel the tingle of Carmex working the second you put it on your lips, and it slowly but surely works to make sure your lips stay smooth and healthy. I use it all year round when it’s needed, but in winter, when your lips suffer the most, it’s a definite must!
Thanks for reading, these are all pretty cheap so I definitely recommend you getting them for the winter!
Lots of love,
