TV/Movie

I haven’t actually watched that many movies this summer, but trust me when I say that I’ve been watching loads of TV series. If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen that (check the apps/tech snippet for more about this) & you can probably also guess which series I will be gushing about.

Generally, I’m quite bad when it comes to immediately watching series. If there’s a new show that everyone is watching, you can find me binge-watching it either months, sometimes years afterwards when all the hype has died down. Which is kind of the situation with the one I’m going to talk about; For the last month or so I’ve been watching episode after episode of The 100. Though the situation isn’t that bad, 3 seasons is out at the moment (so I’m just a little late to the hype) & if I’m not completely wrong they’re shooting season 4 right now.

I love nearly everything about this show! From the storyline to the characters, the barely-there-but-still-existing diversity, from the drama to all the different relationships. I guess the only negative thing I can say is that sometimes the violence is a little too much for me & my blood phobia. Maybe I’m a little sensitive but at least once in every episode, I hide either behind my hands or a pillow because… yeah… Quick spoiler free recap for those of you who don’t know what The 100 is:

A nuclear disaster has destroyed the surface of the Earth & the last surviving humans are living in space. Though their home – The Ark – won’t last forever & they are quickly running out of oxygen. In a desperate act for survival, The Board decides to send down 100 underage criminals to the Earth circa 100 years after the nuclear disaster to see if the Earth is inhabitable. But the earth is nowhere near the Earth they’ve heard about up on The Ark.

It’s a great cast & Marie Avgeropoulos, Bob Morley, Eliza Taylor, among others are such amazing actors & actresses. They’re doing a beautiful job at portraying the characters so it’s difficult to dislike a character for more than one or two episodes (okay, I did dislike one particular character for like half a season but that’s another story). If you hate a character, it’s really a 100%-Umbridge-like-you’re-supposed-to-hate-them-character. Oh, & let’s not forget that Shawn Mendes are doing a guest appearance in season 3. Yes, I had to mention it – don’t judge me.

Body & Skincare

Recently I’ve rediscovered my love for L’Oréal Paris skincare products. I used to love their products & then it died a little & I found new favourites & now the last couple of weeks the love has resurfaced again (was that a weird word choice?). Here is a small selection of my favourite L’Oréal products:

Music

I’m gonna cut this one short because this post is gonna be long enough, so props to you if you’re still reading. I went back & forth trying to decide exactly what song or songs to feature here. After a while, I decided on one of my favourite summer songs this year. It’s not one of those typical upbeat songs you usually think about when you hear the word summer song, but that’s probably why I have been reaching towards this instead of the ”mainstream” songs. Disclaimer: I say mainstream even though I’m pretty sure this song is top 50 globally on Spotify.

Book

If you’ve been following for a while you know these two things. 1. I love photography. 2. I love books. So what could be better than a book with amazing photography? For my birthday this year I got the first Humans of New York book & I finally got around to reading it. To cut it short, it was an amazing read & I recommend that everyone give it a go. Whether it’s for all the stories or for the photography. You should read it.

Apps/Tech Stuff

As I mentioned a little further up in this article you probably have seen on Twitter that I’ve been binge-watching TV series. I use an app/page called TVShow Time to keep track of all the shows I’m watching or have an interest in.Every user has their own page with shows their watching & would like to start watching. On every show, you tap in which season you’re on & which episode. Whenever you’ve watched an episode you can rate it & vote for who the best character was. I’m probably not doing a very good job of describing this, so it’s better if you check it out yourself. But it’s perfect for you who (like me) have way too many TV series to keep track of.

Every user has their own page with the shows that they’re ”tracking” – either watching & would like to start watching. On every show, you type in which season you’re on & which episode. Whenever you’ve watched an episode you can rate it & vote for who the best character was. There’s also forums etc. where you ca discuss with other users but I haven’t given that I try. I mainly use the main page with all my different shows. I’m probably not doing a very good job of describing this, so it’s better if you check it out yourself. But it’s perfect for you who (like me) have way too many TV series to keep track of.

Fashion

If you’ve ever visited Sweden during summer, you know that we only have like… 2 weeks of actual summer. The rest of the time the weather varies between spring & autumn. Which means that you become sort of an expert in finding clothes that look like summer but will actually keep you warm. This summer my favourite type of clothing that fit these criteria was bodysuits. If I could, I would have worn this Topshop bodysuit every day (which I’m pretty sure I actually did). Here I’ve picked out my favourite body’s plus you can also shop the ones I own:
